Other Prevention Techniques
Another nontoxic weapon in the battle against spider mites is the use of sticky traps. You can create them by smearing a sticky resin like Tangle foot on pot edges or cardboard that is an attractant color like yellow. Some indoor growers have had success with this trapping strategy: smear cardboard panels with Tangle foot, being careful not to touch it, or the plants, with your hands. As your fans rotate, the spider mites are blown off and stick on the Tangle foot panel. You can also put Tangle foot around air intakes to trap incoming spider mites looking for a home.
